OUTSTANDING PRIVATE EDUCATORS IN THE COUNTRY HONOURED
In conjunction with the national Teachers Day Celebration held annually on 16th May, KoperasiPendidikanSwasta Malaysia Berhad, also known as Private Education Cooperative of Malaysia,organized the Private Education Excellence Awards 2015 for outstanding private educators in the nation at the Kirkby International College in Cyberjaya.
The recent event was officiated by YB Tuan P. Kamalanathan, Deputy Education Minister and attended by Tan Sri Dato’ Seri DrYahaya Ibrahim who is the Patron of the Cooperative, Dato’ R Rajendran, Chairman ofthe Cooperative, PuanBismillahKhatoon Abdul Kader, President of Kirkby International College, Mr Lee Seng Chee, Managing Director of Krista Group of Companies, Professor Elanjsolan Mohan, President of National Association for Private Education Institutions, Datin Noor Azimah Abdul Rahim, CEO of Parent Action Group for Education (PAGE), and representatives from the Ministry of Education.
Outstanding teachers and educators from preschool to university levels were recognized under the categories of teaching, law education, science, arts and design, engineering, research and innovation, and humanity. Tan Sri Dato’ Napsiah Omar of WIM College (Women Development),Raja Singham of Brickfields Asia College (Law), Zahara Abdul Malik of Krista Education Group (Preschool Education),Professor Dr Suresh Kumar Govind of Universiti Malaya (Humanity), Professor DrJuhary Ali of Asia E University (Long Service Award), Dr Pradeep Kumar Nair of Taylor’s University(Education), Associate Professor DrManjit Singh Sindhu of Universiti Tenaga Nasional (ICT Innovation) and Professor Dr Saw SorHeoh of INTI University (Physics) were among the distinguished private educators honoured.
“More often than not, the focus onrecognition for private educators has not been sufficient. We must not forget that the private educators are now the biggest contributor and the driving force in the education industry in the country,” said Tan Sri DrYahaya Ibrahim the Patron of the Cooperative. The newly-formed cooperative’s mission is to empower its members through education and training opportunities and to enable them to enjoy welfare and financial assistance benefits besides creating investment opportunities for good returns. Its membership is open to teachers, lecturers, employees of education institutions, owners of institutions, students above 18 years of age, parents and all stakeholders in the private education industry.
